Stray Cats Southaven Concert reviews
Finally, Diana Live!
From start to finish, this concert was an absolutely incredible work of art! My wife and I have been fans of Stray Cats for years, and have her concerts on Blu-Ray, but this was our first opportunity to see her live. What it was was an absolutely amazing marriage of antique and contemporary. Was this concert her force majeure? No. I understand the whines of those who didn't get to hear old favorites, but she's touring to promote sales for a new CD, for Pete's sake! Then she assimilates a 21st Century band of absolutely phenomenal musicians, and choreographs perfectly ancient black and white movie scenes to the timing of each piece. What I love about every new album and this one in particular: It's a trip to the attic, where she dusts off the lid of an old antique trunk, and opens it to look for something old and full of inexplicable charm--a photo album, an old stamp collection, or...a rag doll. Enjoy the art for what it is--not fault it for what it isn't. She takes all her treasured finds, cleans them up, frames them, but is sure to leave the patina and old charm intact and untouched.
